The Ways Women Take Care of Men — Part II

23.  (Supplied by Amanda in Part I; I don’t want it to get lost in the comments)  Women take care of men when they are belittled, disrespected, and assaulted by polygamy forced upon them “in the name of God” and perpetuated through a patriarchal status quo of ignorance and fear. (In this instance I  (Heart) would say they are indentured servants or slaves, forced to take care of men.)

24.  Women take care of men by giving men and boys the best of the food they prepare.

25.  Women take care of men by, when food is being dished out, leaving the best or the biggest portions for the men and boys.

26.  Women take care of men when, if there isn’t enough for both the men and the boys and them, they say, “I’m not hungry.”

27.  Women take care of men and boys by making caring gestures — leaving little notes, bringing home treats, filling the gas tank, cleaning his closet, mowing the lawn, doing his laundry — even though he never reciprocates and may not notice.

28.  Women take care of men by caring for the kids while he’s out of town or out for the evening, even though he can’t be trusted to care for the kids while she is out of town or out for the evening, or he flat refuses.

29.   Women take care of men and boys by ignoring , or pretending not to notice, when they scope out girls and women on the street.

30.   Women take care of men and boys by renting movies men want to see, instead of movies they want to see.

31.  Women take care of men and boys by failing to rent movies they want to see and going home and watching them by themselves, even if the men and boys in their lives don’t want to watch them.

32.  Women take care of men by being work horses.

33.  Women take care of men by being superwomen.

34.  Women take care of men by being supermom.

35.  Women take care of men by doing all the traditional women’s work and all the traditional men’s work, too (while he sits back and brags about his feminist superwife from his La-Z-Boy, beer and remote in  hand, dig me, because after all, he works eight hours a day, never mind that she works 18.)

36.  Women take care of men by being uber-competent and uber-independent.  The men and boys reap the benefits, all the while bragging about their great feminist wives or mom, and all the while benefitting from the perks of being with or around a woman who is uber-competent and uber-independent, and never meeting her even one-fourth way, much less halfway.

37.  Women take care of men and boys by babying them when they are sick.

38.  Women take care of men and boys by getting up in the middle of the night with the dog, the cats, the baby, the children, and shushing everyone so they don’t wake him up.  Don’t want him to get pissed!

39.   Women take care of men and boys by making sure everybody knows they don’t hate men and boys.  Me, a manhater?  Perish the thought.

40.  Women take care of men and boys by telling them they are not like other men and boys.

41.  Women take care of men and boys by giving them the benefit of the doubt and believing them, when they know better.

42.  Women take care of men and boys by caving and doing all of the cleaning, because the men and boys never will even though they say they will.

43.  Women take care of men and boys by never expecting or demanding half as much from them as they, themselves, give, as a matter of course.

44.  Women take care of men when they apologize for their appearance.

45.  Women take care of men when they hang out with men as one of the boys, participating in the kind of male bonding which is at women’s expense.

46.  Women take care of men when they are male-identified, and most to all of their friends are men.

47.  Women take care of men when they prefer the company of men to women.

48.  Women take care of men when they blame women for staying in abusive situations, for being abused, for being prostituted, or for being raped.

49.  Women take care of men when they act like men or identify with men.

50.  Women take care of men when they feel sorry for men.
