A 30-year old man has been arrested in Florida for kidnapping his wife, raping her, hanging her from a tree, and torturing her in order to film a two-hour bondage porn video which appeared to be scripted, based on a computer printout found at the scene. She hung from the tree for several hours, her “toes grazing the ground,” according to news reports.
The man is not being identified to protect his wife’s identity. He has been charged with aggravated assault and battery, sexual battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment and is being held on $3 million bond.
Watch him say she agreed to it.

Yep.
Somebody (a male, yet), wrote a book with the excellent title: “Manufacturing Consent”. The title is so excellent, we don’t even need to read the book.
Of course, if a woman had written a book with such a title, she would either be reviled or totally ignored. Because as we all know, all women automatically consent – either that or they’re worthless b*thches.

Posted by stormy | January 18, 2007, 9:58 amFaith blogged about this yesterday. I’m still too sick and upset to even comment.
To quote a friend of mine: “it’s times like this that I wish there were a hell for people like this scum to burn in.”
Posted by veravenom | January 18, 2007, 12:36 pmWhat makes me so sad, is that this is her life partner, or at least likely she thought that. The one person in the world you would most expect to have your safety and best interests at heart, the one person who loves you most. She will have many more wounds than those in her flesh.
Posted by Pony | January 18, 2007, 3:13 pmPony – exactly. He clearly ahd this all planned out. He clearly did not give a fuck about her consent or even her fucking safety. I can’t imagine what that is doing to her. Her own fucking husband.
It drive home the fear that we are not safe – anywhere or with anyone.
If I were a lesser person, I’d say jail is too kind. Let’s hang him off a tree.

Posted by veravenom | January 18, 2007, 7:35 pmThanks, Vera.
Although I’m not sure that could be called blogging. It was more a matter of wanting to put my fist through the screen.
Posted by Faith | January 18, 2007, 7:54 pmYou know, Germaine Greer wrote about the fact that women are far more likely to be assaulted in their own homes by people they know than randomly out on the street and yet so much of the media and cultural warnings to women are about safety on the streets.
All I could think when I read this was: Do you EVER hear of women doing anything like this? Yet I hear all the time about men who drug their wives in order to take pornographic pictures of them and put the on the net, show their buddies, etc. Sick, sick fucks. What is consent anyway? Consent is being a woman, period. If you’re a woman, you’ve consented.
Posted by Ginny | January 19, 2007, 8:04 pmBeing a woman is NOT automatic consent… We have a voice, it’s just that some of us haven’t learned how or know how or are afraid to use it…
