Pre-2008 Posts

I am preparing for my trip to womyn’s land — four of my girls and I leave very early Friday.  A lot of my preparation for this annual trip to the land is spiritual.  Of course, there is a lot of practical preparation that has to be done as well.  But  I have been feeling the horrors in the world right now — in Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan, the Middle East, in general — as well as here in the United States, and so I’ve fallen quiet.  There are some interesting comments to recent posts which I hope everyone will read, even though only a few are displayed in the new comments section of the sidebar.   I have a few things to blog about before I go, too.

  1. Yeah, sometimes you feel like being quiet because so much is going on around you, it’s hard to separate it out to write about it in a way that you can get it done. I’ve kind of been neglecting my blogging but every time I post something, I have to deal with some rather nasty individuals who don’t like it so sometimes I think, why bother? But I do find it an enriching experience.

I am working on some posts on two incustody deaths involving African-American men and how despite the fact that they were either mentally or physically ill, they were assumed to be under the influence of crack or PCP. Which means of course, they will be treated as such. Part I has been posted. This comes in the wake of information that the feds may be examining one of these deaths more closely.

I hope you and your family and friends have a good time on your trip. Take care,

  3. I hope you all have an amazing time this week! I want to hear all about it when you return – the silence is deafening!

  4. Hey Heart, hope your trip went well and you will get home/have arrived home safe and sound. You’ve been missed! And I look forward to your next blog post.
