Me on the F-Files UPDATE

UPDATE (Jan. 1, 2008):  My interview on the F-Files is available to listen to here.  Thanks to Aletha for alerting me that the interview had been posted, and thanks to Jackie for posting it.  — Heart

Update:  Dates for the airing of my interview are October 31 and November 7.  I’ll post precise times as I’m aware of them.  Check out the announcement on the F-Files site— great work, Jackie!  — Heart

My interview went well!  I really enjoy chatting with Jackie of the F-Files.  We covered:

  • The history of my websites and online presence;
  • Attacks on me, BB,  women bloggers and journalists internationally, and my article about that for off our backs;
  • My successful lawsuit against Religious Right organizations;
  • Michfest;
  • Michfest’s woman-only policy;
  • Allegations that radical feminists are “transphobic,” (which Jackie said reminded her of accusations that we  are prudes and manhaters, and I think she’s right);
  • My presidential bid;
  • The idea that anarchy is the theory and radical feminism is the practice, comparisons between anarchafeminism and radical feminism;
  • Revisioning of female sexuality, female-created erotica and burlesque;
  • Allegations that radical feminists are “victim” feminists;
  • The Carnival of Radical Feminists.

It was a great discussion!  Very fun and left me feeling overstimulated with all sorts of energy and nothing to do with it!   I love it when that happens.  Jackie will let me know when this will be aired; she is trying for next Wednesday and the following Wednesday.

  2. Wow, you covered SO MUCH! That’s great! I can’t wait to listen to it!! 🙂 I’m not working next Wednesday/Samhain (I actually wrote that into my work agreement – that I don’t work on Oct. 31 or May 1!), so I may even be able to listen to it while it airs. Woohoo!

  3. What GREAT topics, Heart. A little bit ‘o everything, as my mama used to say. I hope I can listen to it on my computer… if it cooperates.

    Again, congratulations!!

  5. Hey Heart!

    I can’t say I agree with the idea that anarchy is the theory and radical feminism is the practice. But I won’t go into this more as it is probably not the proper place, and I haven’t heard your comments yet. 🙂

    I also think attempting to create, or even envisioning some sort of female “erotica” while we live in such a pornified-culture really could not be done without a list of -isms we have all internalized, be it a little or a lot.

    I do agree Jackie is fabulous! I look forward to listening to your show.

  7. Are they going to post the recording on the F Files website so that us who can’t get American radio can hear it? Please!

    I’m excited about hearing your voice 😛

  8. Hey, Laurelin, as I understand, yes, the interview will be available on the F Files website.

    Ha! Re hearing my voice. My voice is kind of on the low side. though not that one kind of lowish gravelly voice I like so much in women! I am from the Pacific NW, so I have a Pacific NW “accent,” which I think is no accent at all, but others disagree. :p I am told I “sound” the way people imagine me to be.

    Well, I will keep you posted. 🙂

  12. I’m not sure if actually pressed submit for the comment I just made (duh to me)… in case it didn’t work, I wanted to say you do indeed sound exactly as I thought you would, and that was an amazing interview xxx

  14. I’d like to hear your voice too, Heart, but my computer doesn’t seem to like the link (we really are overdue an upgrade!)

    It’s no good, you’ll just have to come over to the UK and do some public speaking so that we can all hear you! 😀 xx

  15. I’m certainly going to give that a listen a bit later. 🙂
