Unexpected Porn Links from Alas a Blog– Update

I linked to a comment Amp made in a post about the Iowa primaries in  my earlier post about Hillary Clinton, i.e., that he wanted her to be “destroyed.”  I went back just now and checked out all the links in my post to make sure they worked.  When I clicked on the link to Alas, I pulled up a page of links to pornography instead.  This list came up in a new window; I should have saved it or created a screen shot.  I went back again to check the link and found that the link was correct.  When I clicked on it again, I pulled up the correct post.  The page of porn links does not show up in my history, and I haven’t been able to pull it up again by creating test links to others of Amp’s posts and clicking on them, or by clicking on the  link that took me to the porn links in the first place.

I’m letting everybody know that this happened so that you will NOT link to Alas and so that if you come across a link to Alas and click on it, you’ll be aware that you might pull up a page of porn links instead.   Maybe some of you could do your own tests and see whether this happens when you create and post a test link.

Forewarned is forearmed.  Amp is overflowing with these lovely surprises.

Update:  Okay, I didn’t pull up the list of porn links when I clicked on the link in my post.  I pulled it up because it was on a list of  daily “Clicks” to my blog on my WordPress dashboard .  WordPress gives you an ongoing list of what links your readers are clicking, or at least the top ten sites, and it constantly updates.  This is what it shows right now.

(another link to Alas removed)

I did not make any link to the bolded address in any post, ever.

What is evidently happening is, when people click on regular links to Alas blog posts, the click registers and is counted as a “click” on this list of links to pornographic websites instead.

How entirely shitty.  Don’t click the links!

  1. How is that surprising? He sold out years ago. I thought you knew that.

  2. Frog, every so often, I like to put Amp’s sellout front and center and will continue to do so. For whatever reason, there are still good feminist women who post and contribute over there and who therefore draw traffic to his blog and the pornographers he is supporting. Amp is eternally sucking up to certain feminists, too, and for whatever reason, some of them seem to love it, go for it, and continue to show up over there, drawing yet more traffic to the racist, misogynist, transphobic pornography Amp’s site pimps. Maybe they don’t know. If they read my blog, they will know.

In the past there was all this protestation that clicking on links to Alas was of no benefit to pornographers. Clearly, this is not true, in that when you click on links to Alas, they morph into hits on porn advertisements, but that’s a new wrinkle, something that just began happening recently, it hasn’t happened before, I’d have noticed it. So that’s another reason.

    Hey frog. 🙂

  3. Note to Amp: Keep it up, buddy. Sexists like you may well be what turns the tide and results in a woman president. Women won’t stand for your and your buddies’ bullshit forever.

  5. I completely forgot about the porn-Amp sell out. I actually posted over there not too long ago. I am just getting more disappointed with these so-called male feminists.

  6. I’ve realised lately that there are some few men writing and commenting in and around feminist spaces who are clearly pro-feminist, who are working out their own stuff without burdening, nevermind harming women (at least not publicly). They don’t talk long and loud.
